Wellington’s Pixel Jam set to kick off on August 28th

Pixel Jam is returning to Wellington for the third year running, the competition beginning for entrants on Friday, August 28th at the Victoria University of Wellington’s Kelburn Campus. Open to individuals or teams of any skill,  Pixel Jam will run for 48 hours in which competitors will need to create a game from scratch following the common theme given out at the start.

The jam begins at 6:00pm on the Friday and continues until 6:00pm the same Sunday. It also requires entrants to complete a sign-up sheet as well as provide an entrance fee of $30 to participate, the sheet of which can be accessed through their website at the bottom of this article. Included in this fee is a t-shirt, food and prizes for the best games at the completion of the jam. Judges from the local development industry will be determining which entry deserves a prize, so naturally the jam is a great way for entrants to put themselves out there and get noticed by the local community in a creative environment.

Previous entries for the 2013 and 2014 Pixel Jams, as well as the sign-up sheet and more detailed information, are available over at pxljam.com.
